About Stacey

“The animals of the world exist for their own reasons…” -Alice Walker

Hi there! My name is Stacey and I am the woman behind The Home-Cooked Vegan. Welcome to my blog πŸ™‚

Hello.

I’ve changed this page about 50 times now. The thing is – it’s hard to write about who I am because I am constantly changing. Finding new things to love, new yoga moves that make me want to sing, new food that I get hooked on and eat for weeks at a time…I am ever-changing.

Currently, I am a 26 year old living in Gastonia, NC. with my boyfriend and our three fur children.

The family

I am a girl that has big dreams and a big heart. I am a motivator and a giver. Becoming vegan has changed my life and opened up my heart in ways I never thought imaginable. I’m one of those weird people that likes being around animals more than humans πŸ™‚

"Neigh, and stuff"

Animals/nature have always fascinated me. I like to observe them, without intruding too much. Being in nature gives me a peaceful feeling that is hard to explain unless you’ve felt it before too.

I spend my spare time reading books on animal rights, animal behaviorism (which, I hope to dedicate a page to that soon!), experimenting with vegan recipes in the kitchen, and cuddling with my fur babies.

Hugs for Trixie

A little more about me:

Nature is good.

I love being in nature.

I hold a degree in Dietetics, and am working on a Bachelors in Biology with a concentration in Ecology, Evolution, and Environmental Science. **I hope to one day have a career that allows me to work with animals, helping them in any way that I can.**

I love to exercise and challenge myself physically, as well as mentally.

I use this blog as a diary. That means that sometimes there will be posts on animals rights. It means that I use this as an outlet for whatever I may be feeling at the time of writing. With that being said, I try to keep my posts upbeat and I love getting feedback from readers πŸ™‚

If you would like to know a little more about me – or if you want a little giggle? – then I will direct you here and here.

This blog is about my journey through life- as a vegan, an athlete, an animal-lover, and a student.

Thank you so much for stopping by and I hope that you come back πŸ˜€
